Lisa Sherwood is known throughout Orange County for her compassionate Birthing and Well Woman Care support. She has an amazing ability to use balance and common sense to educate, support and care her patients. Offering them safe options both medically and alternatively.

As a former labor and delivery nurse, Lisa's desire is to assist women in achieving their desired birth experiences through developing a trusting relationship with their health care provider. Through this relationship, Lisa believes that a healthy partnership develops between the childbearing family and the Certified Nurse Midwife.

One of the most important times in a woman's life! Your initial prenatal visit will last approximately one hour. During that visit, we will discuss how to achieve a healthy pregnancy-through lifestyle, diet, exercise, and education. We will thoroughly review your health history and perform a comprehensive physical examination. Laboratory tests will be done based on your individual needs.

Lisa will be with you during active labor and birth. She will assist you and your birth partner in working with your labor, encouraging you through words, massage, positioning, and variety of other techniques. Lisa will remain with you during the early postpartum period to ensure that breastfeeding is well established and that your recovery is progressing normally. She will visit you in the hospital daily until discharge home. A pediatrician will come to the hospital each day to see your baby and discuss his/her progress with you.

Dr. Bartlett's goal is for pregnant women to have pain-free pregnancies. He safely and gently addresses the aches and pains of pregnancy without drugs. He is also certified in the Webster Technique that, when done throughout pregnancy, can prevent a breech or OP baby and when performed on a woman with a breech baby, can support the child to turn head down by his or herself.

Dr. Bartlett believes that the healthcare system is working at its best when all the members of your healthcare team are working together. He helped found the Bay Area Birth Association (http://www.bayareabirth.org) because he wanted to create an environment that fosters cooperation and collaboration. Dr. Bartlett believes that a wide variety of birth professionals working together creates a better resource for pregnant women than the same professionals working in isolation.
