Week 16
Your Pregnancy At Week 16
Overview
Congratulations -- you're on week 16!
Physical Changes

You may begin to feel light fluttering called “quickening”   Your uterus has grown up and out of your pelvis to just below your belly button. You definitely can’t wear your favorite jeans right now.

Emotional Feelings

Very exciting as you start to anticipate movement. It will be the first time ( of many) that you will be physically interacting with your child.

About Baby
Your baby weighs about 3 ounces. The nervous system is functioning and muscles are responding to stimulation from your baby's brain. You should be able to hear the baby's heartbeat in the doctor's office. Arms and legs are moving.
Things To Consider
Don’t be alarmed if you don’t feel movement this week. Especially if your placenta is anterior (implanted in the front) An anterior placenta acts like a pillow between you and your baby so you may not feel it for a few more weeks.
