Overview
Congratulations -- you're on week 37!
Physical Changes
Your weight and uterine growth have probably stabilized by now. You will be feeling the weight in your lower back and pelvis. Emotional Feelings
This is the time we all get a little anxious to be done. Don’t let the “Induction Seduction” happen to you. You have waited for 9 months. In the whole scheme of things you can make it a few more weeks. Unless there are medically reasons to intervene, it is less risky for you and your baby to let nature take it’s course. About Baby
Your baby is about 21 inches from head to toe and weighs almost 6.5 pounds. Baby is getting rounder every day, and skin is getting pinker and losing its wrinkly appearance. Baby's head is usually positioned down into the pelvis by now. Your baby is considered “term” at 37 weeks, however there is significant evidence that baby’s that are elective induced or taken via C-Section are at risk for prematurity and respiratory problems. Things To Consider
Make sure that you are drinking at least 8, 8 once glasses of water daily. This is very important! Your uterus is a muscle and needs hydration to work effectively. If you are dehydrated your uterus will start contracting with painful contractions that don’t do a thing to your cervix. In other words, if you don’t drink you could have contractions that really hurt…but don’t put you into labor.
